The intervention site is located in Vila Rodrigues, Alcântara, Lisbon, a former working-class village marked by the contrast between the scale of the warehouses and that of the workers' dwellings.
The plot is located between two other plots, and the proposed elevation is designed to blend in with the existing buildings so as not to clash with the street layout. The alignment of the adjacent building's openings has been taken into account, and a metal cladding has been created at ground floor level that is in harmony with the existing metal cladding on the warehouses that now serve as housing and line the street.
The loft is characterised by being a four-bedroom property, with the ground floor comprising social areas such as the kitchen, dining room and living room, in an open space that connects to the patio facing the interior of the block. As the plot is narrow and long, a void has been created in the centre to bring in natural light, provide natural ventilation and create a three-dimensional relationship with all floors.

On the first floor and attic, there are four bedrooms with supporting sanitary facilities, where the rooms connect with the outside and with the central void.
Conceptually, the proposal for the exterior and main façade is subtle, seeking to blend into the street without imposing itself. It is inside that greater ambition is revealed, through a central void that structures and gives identity to the project. This void, designed as a ‘chimney’ with sloping walls, will be covered with tiles, enhancing the reflections of natural light and giving brightness and atmosphere to the circulation areas.
